Scrap Attack

Scrap Attack is a hide & seek multiplayer game inspired by Sharky Swim, a humorous minigame encountered in the online party game Pummel Party.

Three players try to hide among their same-looking peers while collecting key items to escape their doom. A forth player tries to look through their disguise and neutralize them with a limited amount of attempts.

This game is a submission for the course Game Design and Development 2 at Graz University of Technology by Group 03.

How to use

The game can be either tested via creating multiple instances on your PC (just leave IP blank) or over LAN. You might use an arbitrary VLAN client to connect over the internet.

Make sure that ScrapAttack is permitted to communicate through your system's firewall and you should be good to go (promt on Windows at first start). Depending on your configuration, it might be necessary to open port 7777.

There is only limited error handling. If the client can't connect to the lobby within a few moments, shutdown the game and check your connection to the host.

Goals

• Magnet: Find the players among the imposters and destroy them.
• Players: Hide between your clones while gathering all key items (blue batteries).

• WASD - Movement
• Space - Pull and destroy robot (magnet only)
